Shock as Jacob Rees-Mogg, Honourable Member for the 19th Century, expresses old-fashioned opinion

6 Sep 2017

Westminster has reacted with surprise as it was revealed that future Prime Minister and polite demagogue Jacob Rees-Mogg is, astoundingly, socially conservative.

Appearing on Good Morning Britain, Rees-Mogg spoke of his disapproval of both abortion and equal marriage. The MP confessed he was no great supporter of the LGBT+ community, but insisted he remained a fan of Ru Paul’s Drag Race.

Viewers, seemingly oblivious to the consistency of Rees-Mogg’s social opinions, rushed to Twitter in outrage, using a wide variety of expletives to express their anger. Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson condemned the abuse, stating that the insults used were not creative enough.

Some felt the interview with Mr Rees-Mogg, conducted by Piers Morgan, should have been aired after the watershed, due to it involving “too many pricks.”

The Tory MP is considered by many to be a likely candidate for the leadership of his party, the winner of which will be allowed the honour of losing the next election.
